Advisor, Western Zone

Mitch Gold has been named Advisor, Team Services (Western Zone). He brings 20+ years of coaching, administration, and operational experience to his role at USA Swimming. Gold has served Southern California Swimming in various positions in governance - most recently bringing transformational change to the LSC as the General Chair.

As Head Coach of the Palm Desert Swim Club for over 10 years, Gold developed a competitive program leading swimmers to the National and Junior National level. The Palm Desert Swim Club was honored to receive the 2019 USA Swimming SwimBiz Award for Best Use of Social Media.

Gold is a retired Marine Captain with 21 years of service and is a proud University of Maryland graduate.
